Configuring Your Internet Connection Part 2: Static IP Configuration

This is movie shows you how to configure the more advanced connections you will need for your servers.

Servers require a more sophisticated IP connection specification than clients. If your local subnet includes a print server, a file server, an Internet game server, an Internet voice server, or a web server, the automated setup described in the prior movie won't be adequate for your needs. You'll want to manually configure a "Static" IP address. This 10-minute movie uses extensive animation, narration, and photographic clips to explain the ins and outs.

This movie continues building an excellent foundation and introduction for anybody that wants to know how their Local Area Network works, and for people studying to learn the most basic concepts needed to pass any of these certification exams:

CCNA CCDA CCNP CCIE MCSE
