Wireless Networking

The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) has published a series of "standards" documents to help manufacturers build wireless network adapters and related equipment that will interoperate. The most important standards documents in this series are named 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n. This type of networking has come to be known as "WiFi" or "Wireless Fidelity", and it is now very popular. Without doubt, wireless LANs and wireless Internet access are going to be important to our future!

We've added a whole new section at AskMisterWizard.com, beyond this "Network Fundamentals" section, to cover wireless networks. Click HERE to enter that new Wireless Networking section.
